The cornucopia moon fills sidereal Taurus a 646AM Pacific time Wednesday morning. This is the Christmas moon, as the next full moon falls on the 28th of December in Sagittarius, close to the Galactic Rift. The sun is currently shining from Scorpio, a fertile sign full of promise and redemption.

All good things on earth, from fine chocolates to heady wine to ripe cheese, fall from the fruitful, fortuitous sign of the celestial Bull. Taurus is a gift in itself from a flowing, abundant heaven, hence the season of giving, and the Christmas spirit of joy!. This makes an optimal time to choose a gift from the celestial garden, our communal spiritual garden, and scatter it’s rich seeds!

As we swirl into the seasonal mix, giving and gifting and staying green, we are wise to focus on the material plane; this season is all about life on earth! We came here to make this a perfect reflection of life in the heavenly spheres, rich and savory and joyous. We retain that ability yet, in spite of all our setbacks! Never doubt the triumph of the spirit of mankind!

 

The new moon falls on Tuesday, the 13th of November, in the charming sign of Libra, the balance, at 208PM Pacific time.  A solar eclipse follows, visible in the southern hemisphere, but not to us whose rainy skies usually make this a twice told tale!

Libra, a socially aware and engaging sign, is all about getting involved, getting evolved, getting it right!!  This would be a great new moon during which to plant new friendships, new plans, especially to expand social networking.  With Mercury retrograde in Scorpio, this is a much better time to revamp older or existing plans;  to reconnect with those we may have lost touch;  or, best of all, to scare up forgotten or forsaken plans and schemes which lie moldering in the background of our minds.  Picking up the pen, figuratively, to finish a mystery novel, detective story, sad romance, or spy novel is a great way to get through this retrograde in grand Libra style!!  So would organizing a holiday list of events for guests who haven’t seen each other in years.  We don’t move now;  we just plan it!

The sun enters sidereal Scorpio at 108PM Pacific time on Friday, the 16th, and connects directly with Mercury doing its backstroke at 747AM Pacific time Saturday morning.  Being overpowered by the sun, Mercury’s wacky influence is momentarily blotted out from the scene.  We have twelve hours during which we may put our grand plans into action without fear of the Scorpions stinger poisoning everything!!  Let’s take maximum advantage of this window!

At 747PM Pacific time Saturday night, it’s back to watchful silence, at least through the later evening.  Mercury will reenter Libra and go direct there on the 26th, giving us almost two glorious weeks to set things up right!!  Mercury will reenter Scorpio on December 7th.

Mercury turned about-face in the sign of secrets, lies, resurrections and redemptions at 304PM Pacific time Election Day.  Yikes, what does that tell us about the elected??  Or, the electors?  It depends on how we apply the energy, as always!!

The United States is seen by many in the world as an eagle, in emblem or meme, particularly the great American balm eagle.  In other tongues, this is the same word as ‘phoenix’, the mystical plumed beauty who rises from its own ashes of cinnamon bark and flames.  In the birth chart of the US, reckoned as July 4, 1776 in Philadelphia, at 510PM, Scorpio, the Phoenix, is rising in the skies.

Many cultures have long regarded America as the reincarnation of ancient Rome, whose symbol was also the eagle, the golden eagle in their case;  we Americans certainly have raised our own standard and sent legions all over the world!  Don’t know that our aim was conquest, except perhaps over evil, as is Everyman’s fight…or at least it was so, in the past, ideally.  Rome is also the power which committed deicide, crucifying our Lord.  If the powers of Roman had not done so, we’d be having a whole different conversation right now, eh?  Such a Scorpio perspective!

Others see the Americas as a direct reincarnation of Atlantis, which may share our vicinity as well.  While more vague and mythical, the Atlantis connection is just as meet;  very techno oriented, a meritocracy, and scientifically modeled!  Or at least, we used to believe, in the past, ideally.  Atlantis was involved somehow in the Noachian flood, when everything and everyone was corrupted.  Again, a Scorpio  event, catastrophic floods which cleanse corruption!

With Mercury retrograding in our national twelfth house, we are bringing forward many ideals, ideas, notions, secrets, Issues, and dirty laundry forward for airing in the open now.  We aim to reclaim something here, be it a past glory, a past identity, a hidden jewel in our crown, perhaps something even older.

This will be a fascinating interplay!

So, two caveats:  first, don’t get caught up in it, because we are only observers, remember;  we are not of this world and not one of the players.  Take none of it seriously except the fact that we are citizens of heaven, who know exactly Who our King is, and of that King there is no doubt whatsoever!

Of course, a good bit of prayer helps a lot, everywhere!

Second, and above all, don’t fall in love now!!  OmG, it would be better to pick one who just robbed a liquor store with the cops around the corner than to fall in love with the best of the best now!!

Autumn falls at last!!  Brisk October breezes toss the dancing leaves in great strokes of color!  As Halloween approaches the moon too increases, full, round and silver, a great jack o lantern in the skies, promising such adventure!!  In sidereal Aries, the sign of new beginnings and hope at the end of the journey, the moon reaches its’ fullness on the 29th of October, anniversary of the Great Crash that signalled the Depression.

In ancient days, this full moon was known as the Hunters Moon;  this was the last opportunity to hunt by full moon when game was still plentiful, before hibernation and scarcity and want.  This is also the time of ardent prayer, rosary recitation and novena vows, by the living for the living, and for the dead.  Those of us who still remember the ancient ways begin our novena for the Souls in Purgatory on Wednesday the 24th, to conclude on All Souls Day.

In 2012, the Age of Instant everything, we still sense the beginning of the End, and the end of the beginning.  Scarcity and fear still permeate our lives, though now it is we who go into emotional hibernation in front of the TV.  Our world has become none the less harsh a place, and we must be hardy folk if we are to survive and endure to the end.

 

What kind of a new moon falls on a Monday in the middle of cool, rainy October?  Virgo!!

The moon will come new in the sign of the mighty woman of the heavens, the starry virgin, at 502AM Pacific time Monday morning;  for a brief period, till 859AM Pacific time, we have a window in which we may plant the seeds of discernment, discretion, determining the fine lines and finer shades.  As quick as this window shuts, the blessings could prove eternal, consequential and enormous!!

Only consider;  we have an election in the USA coming up which could change the direction of the entire globe.  We none of us have given our choices the close scrutiny and careful analysis they deserve.  Most of us are going to vote our hearts, without realizing we should be using our heads.

Further, we now have the opportunity to face the consequences of past choices, also made with the heart, and divine where we went wrong;  what we should have done instead, and discern the best way to correct the crop of weeds so sewn.

This brief time, if spent in silent study or devout prayer, could save the world!!

No doubt you have noticed the number of break ups, lay offs, BFFs never speaking to each other again, and hate mail piling up in the in-box.  This is Venus and Mars squaring each other.  Last week the difficulties occurred between shy Cancer and mild Libra, so we heard about the drama, rather than witnessing it.  This week the mayhem rears up from wild riding Scorpio and loud righteous Leo.  We will see it, hear it, shoot it and call 911 before the week is over.

Exacerbating this necessary roughness, the Harvest moon in Pisces looms above us on Saturday night.  Pisces is not only intensely emotional, it is a sign which remembers, stores away hidden events, secret deals, forgotten pacts, whispered vows.  As the square between Venus and Mars kicks into demonstrative signs, the drama takes on a life of it’s own, with real flesh and blood flowing.

The wise way to handle this breaking square is to look into that Pisces moon, the Harvest moon of September, and remember that the full moon is for harvesting.  We harvest what we have sown in our spiritual gardens, our souls, our environment of friends and associates and social network connections.  If we have sown discord, it’s going to be hell of a week!  If we are willing now to weed out animosity, betrayal, mind games, ulterior motivations, pull them right out of our agenda, we release a pure crystal light back into the heavens.  This light is too pure to attract bugs or wolves or vampires;  it is the indefinable Light sensed by the poets and quantum physicists.  This light can guide us to those realms where we long to dwell!!

The golden autumn moon slims and slimmer toward it’s renewal.  On Saturday the 15th at 711PM Pacific, it reaches its most sensitive and vulnerable point in mighty, gold crowned Leo, vanishing completely for three days.  The fading Leo sun can overwhelm our personalities and our plans;  but as the subtle silver moon adds its fertile darkness to the heavens our wise move is careful birth control, while planting a wholesome crop of involved strategies, willingness to win, and the drive for success.

As the sun follows the moon out of Leo and into pensive, pondering Virgo, we too may see our plans and plants unfold when wisely tended and nurtured!

One point in heaven which may be concerning us and involving our lives is that of the square between Uranus in Pisces and Pluto in Sagittarius.  Both of these orbs are retrograde now, so we have done all of this before, and now are going back to correct all the mistakes we may have made when doing it the first time.

Uranus is a wildcat that stirs up trouble, breaks dams, releases the fish, lets the dogs out!!  In Pisces, this whirlwind riles feelings of all kinds, most especially dramatic and extreme impulses, having to do with the most volatile of subjects;  also, of all religious feelings.  This has nothing to do with religious beliefs, tenets, rituals or customs, but more to do with the feelings we have about them.  Pluto in Sagittarius changes the way we approach higher education, the way we travel, and all aspects of foreign affairs.

Does all this remind you of what happened in the past, when students went wild over religious issues in a foreign country?  Back then the country was broke, the leadership a joke, and we were all in a whole lotta trouble, Lucy!!

The dates of exact square points are June 24th of this year, as well as next Thursday September 20th;  May 21st 2013, November 1st, All Saints Day 2013, April 21 2014, December 15th 2014 and March 17 2015.

Even should the history lesson of 1980 repeat itself, our country still stands ripe to rip itself apart in civil war.
